Geraldine Dawson, PhD, formerly Chair of the DIBS Faculty Governance Committee, became DIBS Director on July 1, 2019. Dr. Dawson’s appointment was announced jointly by Duke Provost Sally Kornbluth and School of Medicine Dean Mary Klotman. An internationally renowned scientist and clinician, they noted, “Dr. Dawson has a long track record of inspiring and effective institutional leadership and deep knowledge of the DIBS community.”
“I was honored and excited to take on the leadership role at DIBS,” said Dr. Dawson. “I truly enjoy working with outstanding DIBS faculty, students, and staff as we continue to promote innovation in neuroscience research, outstanding education, and meaningful engagement with our community.”
