Dissertation Title

Using imagination to reframe negative memories: An exploration into emotion regulation with counterfactual thinking

Research Description

Dr. Parikh's research focuses on how and why people regulate their emotions in response to adverse events. She is particularly fascinated by individuals’ natural inclination to create alternate scenarios from events that have occurred as a way to process the event. In the next couple years, she hopes to explore how adolescents and adults make similar decisions about when and how to actively regulate their emotions.
