Lisa Fortuna, MD, MPH, M.Div. is Professor and Executive Vice-Chair of Clinical Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at University of California San Francisco and Vice-Chair and Chief of Psychiatry at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. She is Board Certified in Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in a multicultural community in Newark, NJ, she is bilingual, and bicultural. She is also an ordained minister in the Episcopal Church USA. Her areas of expertise include child and adolescent psychiatry, posttraumatic stress disorder, substance use disorders in adolescents, spirituality and religion in mental health, and intervention research with immigrant, Latino, and other communities of color. As a clinician-scientist and public health advocate, her work has focused on addressing mental health disparities, and structural inequities. She has been an investigator on several NIH studies including a current U01 titled By Youth, For Youth: Digital Supported Peer Navigation for Addressing Child Mental Health (NIMH1 U01 MH131827-01). She has published several articles areas of her expertise, and her book, Mindfulness-Based CBT for Adolescent PTSD and Addictions, was published by New Harbinger Press in October 2015.
