ADHD and the Path from Genes to Brain to Behavior in Autism

Please join us for the next presentation in our 2022-2023 Duke Center for Autism Speaker Series! Our speaker will be John N. Constantino, M.D., a research child psychiatrist whose 30-year career has focused on the causes of social disability in childhood. After developing the Social Responsiveness Scale in the early 2000s, he and his team embarked on a systematic appraisal of patterns of inherited transmission in autism, culminating in the identification of predictors of recurrence of the condition in families which inform potential targets for early personalized intervention. Following a 13-year tenure as director of the Division of Child Psychiatry at Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Constantino recently moved to Atlanta where he serves as professor and vice chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University and the inaugural system chief for Behavioral and Mental Health at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
