A Gut Cell for Food Reward

Speaker

Laura Rupprecht, PhD

The Rupprecht Lab studies why we like to consume. From a gut-brain perspective, our work is delineating how alcohol and nutrients interact with cells in the intestine to drive overconsumption in health and in disease. Her laboratory investigates gut-brain mechanisms that drive nutrient reward and substance use disorders, integrating cellular, circuit, and behavioral approaches.
