Margin to Center: A Critical Examination of 20 Years of Inclusive Autism Research

Speaker

Dora M. Raymaker, PhD

Our speaker will be Dora M. Raymaker, PhD. Dr. Raymaker is the founding Co-Director of the Academic Autism Spectrum Partnership in Research and Education (AASPIRE), a Research Associate Professor at Portland State University's Regional Research Institute for Human Services in the School of Social Work, and an Autistic neurodiversity activist. In the two decades since the conditions that birthed AASPIRE, there have been large shifts in both the inclusion of autistic people in research and in how society views autism. This talk reflects on the depth and dynamics of that change over time, identifies how inclusive research can act as a lever for large-scale systems change, and encourages attendees to consider concrete actions they can take in meeting the current challenges and opportunities of inclusive autism research and practice in their own work. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. PLEASE REGISTER AT THE LINK PROVIDED.
