About This Event:

This day-long event is free and open to the public; lunch will be provided. It is the closing day of Summer Seminars for Neuroscience & Philosophy, an interdisciplinary event funded by the John Templeton Foundation and Duke. The program's goal is to advance knowledge at the intersection of the two fields to address humanity's "big questions" on complex topics such as morality, human nature, and perception. Topics on Saturday include, "The Role of Representation in Computational Models" and "In the Limit: Representing Continua in the Brain." Please see schedule below; no registration required. 

Saturday, August 17

9-10:30am: Keynote from Dr. Frances Egan (Rutgers University)

10:30-11am: Break with coffee & pastries

11am-12:30pm: Keynote from Dr. Read Montague (Virginia Tech)

12:30pm-2pm: Catered lunch

2pm-3:30pm: Keynote from Dr. Chris Eliasmith (University of Waterloo)

3:30pm-4pm: Closing remarks from Dr. Felipe De Brigard and Dr. Walter Sinnott-Armstrong
