Mohsin Ahmed, MD, PhD is a NIMH K08-funded psychiatrist and neuroscientist in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University. He conducts research on the neural circuit physiology underlying episodic memory processes and fear regulation, with the long-term translational aim of identifying targets that can be developed for improved diagnostics and therapeutics in psychiatric disorders. He pursues this goal by leveraging his background in chronic, subcellular resolution functional imaging, experimental neural circuit manipulation methods, and clinical psychiatry.
