2019 SCAN Symposium Scheduled April 11-13, Asheville

Registration open for participants from co-sponsoring schools: Duke, Emory, Georgia Tech, UNC-Chapel Hill, Vanderbilt

The Duke Institute for Brain Science's Center for Cognitive Neuroscience will host the 2019 Smokies Cognition & Neuroscience Symposium April 11-13, 2019, at the Renaissance Asheville Hotel in Asheville, NC.

SCANS is an informal event featuring cognitive and neuroscience laboratories from the sponsoring schools, Duke, Emory, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Vanderbilt University. Speakers from the schools will share information on six main topics:

  • Perception
  • Attention
  • Memory
  • Language
  • Control Processes
  • Emotion & Motivation

Registration is Required; Deadline March 1st

There is no charge to attend but registration is required and you must book your room at the conference hotel (double occupancy available). Schedule

A full schedule will be prior to the event but highlights include:

4/11:  Opening Reception, 6:00 pm

4/12:  Program, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; dinner on your own

4/13:  Program, 8:00 am – 12:30 pm.; adjourn
