Technology shows promise for helping kids with autism spectrum disorder

Reuters Health reported on a new study that has found combining Google Glass with a smartphone app helps children with autism spectrum disorder recognize and interpret facial expressions. The "Superpower Glass" system includes eyeglasses with a camera and speaker. Geraldine Dawson, PhD, Director of the Duke Center for Autism and Behavioral Development, was quoted in the report; she was not involved in the study.
